Game : Postal 2: Share The Pain
Type                    : Multiplayer
Requires : Postal 2: Share The Pain Full-1407 or higher
================================================================================
* Description *

The SMEG is a brand-new weapon for multiplayer that doubles as a shotgun and a
cluster bomb launcher.
================================================================================
* Installation for SERVER, CLIENT, and LEVEL DESIGNERS *

If you extracted SMEG while preserving directory structure, all the files are
already in their respective folders, just drag and drop the lot into your
Postal2 folder. If you did not then move these files:

SMEG_Weapons.ukx --> Postal2\Animations
SMEGMesh.usx --> Postal2\StaticMeshes
ED_SMEG.u --> Postal2\System
SMEGSkins.utx --> Postal2\Textures
All Others --> wherever you want
================================================================================
* Installation for LEVEL DESIGNERS only *

Copy ED_SMEG.u to your Postal2\System folder. Then choose one of the following
methods.

METHOD 1: Rare/infrequent use of SMEG
If you do not use SMEG that often, you can use this method. Simply load the
Actor Class Browser in UnrealEd, then click on the Open icon. Select ED_SMEG.u
and choose OK, and SMEG will be loaded into UnrealEd for this session only.

METHOD 2: Frequent use of SMEG
You can edit your Postal2.ini file to load SMEG each time you use UnrealEd.
Simply use a text editor to open Postal2.ini. Find the following section:

[UnrealEd.UnrealEdEngine]
AutoSaveIndex=6
GridEnabled=True
...

Add this line to the end of the section:

EditPackages=ED_SMEG

Now SMEG will load each time UnrealEd is loaded and you do not need to open the
file manually.
================================================================================
* Installation for SERVER only *

If you are not going to run a Server, you may skip this section.

If the SMEG is used in maps, the client will automatically download the
necessary SMEG files from the redirect. However, I recommend you include SMEG
as a Server Package to prevent possible complications. To do so, add the
following line under [Engine.GameEngine] in your Postal2.ini file:

ServerPackages=ED_SMEG
================================================================================
* SERVER: Setting up REDIRECT *

If you use SMEG maps on your Server you will need to add SMEG to your Redirect
Server. If you do not have a Redirect Server, follow these steps (courtesy of
BitchAssMotherFucker)

-- Begin BAMF explanation --
First off you need to go into the Postal 2.ini in the system folder and find
this section

[IpDrv.HTTPDownload]

then make it look like this

[IpDrv.HTTPDownload]
RedirectToURL=http://uz.gameservers.net/
ProxyServerHost=
ProxyServerPort=3128
UseCompression=True

Most of the custom maps you see on the servers are already posted there but if
you have new maps or files or maps that aren't posted there yet then you have
to put the map into your system folder and use the ucc compress comand to
compress the file to a .uz file

Once you have the uz file you have to upload it to the redirect server via ftp

Address-redirect.gameservers.net/
login-upload
password-upload

make sure you upload into the unrealtournament folder ONLY.
-- End BAMF explanation --

How to use UCC COMPRESS: First you need a DOS PROMPT shortcut. You can either
use the shortcut in the Start Menu (but you will have to CD to the Postal2
directory) or create a new shortcut in your Postal2 folder. To create a new DOS
PROMPT shortcut follow these steps.

1. Open your Postal2 folder.
2. Right click --> New --> Shortcut
3. Type in "cmd" (minus the quotes) and hit enter.
4. Type a name for the shortcut, like "DOS Prompt" and hit enter.
5. Right click the newly-created shortcut and hit Properties.
6. In the "Start In:" field, type the COMPLETE PATH to your Postal2 folder.
Example: C:\Program Files\Postal2\System
7. Now you have a DOS PROMPT that goes directly to your Postal2 folder.

Now access the DOS PROMPT and type in the following:

ucc compress mapname.fuk

but replace "mapname.fuk" with the filename of your actual map. UCC will create
a file called "mapname.fuk.uz", this is the file you need to upload to the
redirect.

Please note that SMEG is already on the GameServers.Net Public Redirect and
does not need to be uploaded again.

* Information *

The SMEG has two firing modes: Shotgun Mode and Cluster Bomb (Bouncing Betty)
launcher.

To select the SMEG, press 3 or whatever key you have bound to the Shotgun until
the SMEG comes up.

To use the Shotgun Mode, hit the left mouse button or your NormalFire button.
The SMEG will fire a pellet spread equivalent to that of four shotgun blasts.

To use the Cluster Bomb launcher, press and hold the right mouse button or your
AltFire button. The longer you hold down the button, the more clusters the bomb
will explode into. Each unit of ammo charged equals one extra cluster bomb. To
shoot the cluster bomb release the AltFire button. The limit to the number of
clusters you can shoot is limited only by the number of SMEG cartridges you have
left.

SMEG cartridges are kept in small red boxes that say "S.M.E.G." on them.

* Special Thanks *

Special Thanks to the Eternal Damnation Team, especially Biohazardous Snark and
Silent Scope, who produced this weapon and allowed it to be used in multiplayer
games. Make sure to check out their website at www.resurrection-studios.com.
