Dave's Brush Builder Pack
release 1.0 (03/12/01):
Hello, and thanks for downloading the pack.
I recommend you use this with UT patch 432 or higher. If you successfully use the pack with a lower version please let me know.
Acknowledgements, version history, legal stuff & disclaimer: see the end of this file.
If you find the pack useful, or have any comments or suggestions, or make a really cool map using these builders, feel free to let me know (darendash@home.com).
Extended documentation, lastest updates, new versions, and maps made with this pack at: http://members.home.com/darendash

Installation
Installing the pack will add four new buttons to the UnrealEd toolbox, immediately below the native brush builders. These will function in exactly the same way as the native builders: left-click to build, right-click to open the parameters window.

umod version: Double-click the file to install it. Apart from adding a line to unrealtournament.ini, nothing existing on your system is overwritten.
zip version: unzip the contents of the file, and place the files thus:

DavesBrushBuilders.u in [UT]\system,
All the .bmp files in [UT]\system\editorres,
This file you are currently reading, put wherever you wish.
* [UT] is your UnrealTournament folder.

You also need to add the following line to unrealtournament.ini, at the end of the [Editor.EditorEngine] section, after the other 'EditPackages' lines:

EditPackages=DavesBrushBuilders

Check my website for updates. I plan to add more brush builders in the future. I also have a huge collection of pre-fab brushes.

In release 1.0:
New icon, which is, yes, green. I wanted to distiguish my stuff from Tarquin and the stock brushes.

Dave's Platonic Solids builder: Platonic solids are the 5 basic solid figures which are completely symmetrical, and all edges are equal in length: Tetrahedron (4 triangles), Cube (6 squares), Octahedron (8 triangles), Dodecahedron (12 pentagons), and Icosahedron (20 triangles).

Options
* Radius - the radius of a sphere which would neatly contain the brush.
* GroupName - Works the same as in the native brush builders.
* StellateType - None, 1, or 2. Stellation is making something look like a star. (note that
this is similar to Tesselation in the current Sphere tool, but I limit it to 2 to keep it real).
* StellatePercent - 0 to ?, the percent of the radius at which stellated points are placed. Use < 100 to produce 'dimples', 100 to keep to a sphere, and > 100 to make like a star
* Platonic Type - choose from the 5 types

Known issues
The Icosahedron's vertices are off by less than 1%, but I strive for perfection, will be fixed in
next version.
Contact me if you find any bugs.

Future development
Truncation and more options, as well as import from various file types. See the website.
Would be nice to round off the pointy bits, but, ah, later.
Also working on several other builders, like roads, and Escher-style rooms. See the website.

Acknowledgements
First and foremost, to Tarquin, who made Tarquin's Brush Builders and paved the way for my development here, and for this excellent readme template.
And finally, all the people who made UT the excellent game that it is. Without UEd brushbuilder plug-in architecture this pack would not be possible.

Version history
Version 1.0 (03/12/2001): general release. Known issues: none.
