Installation

------------

Unzip ortican.zip

Store the *.unr file in your Unreal Tournament/Maps directory along with the others
(see guide below), then either doubleclick on it, or type

open Ortican

in the console, or select the Map in Oldskool.

Guide:

*.umx files go in Music/

*.uax files go in Sounds/

Extended Description

--------------------

When Human beings first discovered the planet Na Pali,
the home of the friendly and innocent race known as
the Nali, they begun to colonize the world. The
organized the building of several mineral mines which
were run and protected by large command bases. One of
the bases they built on Na Pali was the Ortican
facility. Only they overlooked an important factor...
The Skaarj. Not long after the completion of Ortican,
the Skaarj came and assaulted the base. After a
violent invasion,  they overran the complex. A few
months later, The Human space division decided to try
to regain control of  Ortican by infiltrating the
facility and destroying the modified command center
the Skaarj developed there. They also wanted to knock
out the source of the facility's overwelming supply of
Skaarj soldiers, by killing the Skaarj Queen. They
send YOU in order to do that. You are a colonial
marine, a soldier with little education and a
instinctive adeptness in the art of killing shit. You
are deployed in near the base by your stealth
dropship. Your mission is to infiltrate Ortican and
destroy the command center, located in the tower and
by killing the Queen. After you've done that you get
out of the base, run too a small launch pad in another
valley and  escape with the jetfighter that will be
waiting on you there.

Author's Notes

-you infiltrate the base by contacting the nali or by going trough the sewer. so the
first part is ''non linair'' .

-there are a few Easter Eggs and secrets in the map, hf finding them :)

-you should download OldSkool to play this map propperly, its an UT singleplay so
its best that you download that, btw 1337, mod, wich you can find at

though, without the mod, the map will still work. 

if you play it without the mod, and you do not see any monsters then do this : 
Open the file UnrealTournament.INI in your map 'System', search for the
properties of deathmatch and teamdeathmatch(somewhere in the middle, the base line
is [Botpack.DeathMatchPlus] and [Botpack.TeamGamePlus] ), search for each game type
for the following line 

bNoMonsters=True >>> False 

Now change the True in False and exit the file and save. 

Also, without the mod you wont be able to pick it out of the menu so Start UT, and
then open console and type "Open Ortican", notice that it will use the settings for dm
at that time, so pls first disable all the mutators and turn of the frag limit/time
limit and the bots 

it's suppose to be dark in some area's, therefor you got an SEARCHLIGHT. So use that ffs.
