Extended description:
--------------------
Pretty self-explanatory, really... you're going to duke it out on RMS Titanic. The flags are in the Engine Room (Blue) and the Cargo Room (Red)... all the while, you're moving along at full steam, and the iceberg looms ominously ahead.

The layout is fairly simple - Red occupies the forward half of the ship, while Blue occupies the aft sections.

You start off in a team-only "spawn room" (there is a blue one and a red one.) In WFUT, there would be packs here, while in regular CTF, you will find only a place where you can enjoy the scenery, or perhaps hit a teleporter and try to capture a flag or two.

The teleporters will take you (left to right) to the crows' nest, to the flag areas, or up top. If you want to return to the spawn room (they're keyed by team), you'll have a single teleporter next to your flagroom that you can use.

There are two main pathways and one main assault axis towards the enemy flagroom, which intersect often, and can take you both inside and outside the ship. This is due to the fact that a ship doesn't really offer too many alternatives from which to attack... though I think you'll be pleasantly suprised at how I had to get around that 'single-axis' problem, though :)

Feel free to explore in single-player mode, since there's lots of eye-candy in the middle areas (I left out a lot of eye-candy as you get towards the flagrooms, since that's where most of the fighting occurs.)

Weapons (CTF Mode): Most of them are abovedecks, with very little in the flagrooms. This is because things are kind of restricted as you get into the flag rooms, so forcing players to get out of the flagroom to refuel/rearm will IMO help offense out a bit. The real goodies are outdoors - the shield belt in between the Grand Staircase and the Smoking Room areas, armor is both on the Bridge and towards the aft Well Deck, and the redeemer is amidships - don't worry, it's in there somewhere (an interesting side-note: With a bit of skill, you can fly the redeemer in loops around the ship until it dies off, waiting for a victim or three to pop their heads up :)

Weapons (WFUT Mode): Unless you're one of the bots, you won't see any of these, since you'll already have all your weapons upon spawn... ammo/armor/health can be had in the spawn room packs/engineer's depots/nurse's healing pads, as usual.

Traps: 1) Do not fall into the water, else you will die.

Author's Notes
--------------
I didn't make this an exact copy of RMS Titanic... just a reasonable facsimile. if I were to go all historic about it, the framerates and gameplay would make the whole file useless. So, I had to improvise. While I did try to remain somewhat faithful to the original blueprints, You will notice that A deck is missing entirely, and that anything indoors is hardly to the original ship's design. For the true titanophiles among you, please do not get all anal about the historical inaccuracies... I wanted to make it playable, not historical. For a more historical 3D tour of the ship, I suggest the game 'Titanic - Adventures Out Of Time'... they're far more accurate than I.

A final note - the polycounts are sub-200 for the majority of the ship. However, there are a couple of places where the polys will spike at around 200, and may spike even higher in most of the upper sniping positions.

For those with older machines (P3 500 and below), I suggest that you not try and snipe from the higher places; otherwise, you should be able to play the map comfortably.

If you have a decent (p3-500 and above) machine, then enjoy sniping from anywhere on the ship.

In short - If you want to copy this map, go for it - just know that your results must also be released under the GNU GPL as well.

If you want to sell copies or derivatives of this map, you must do so without using the peng2.utx texture pack (because of the Maxfield Parrish prints in it) or the Fishing.umx file (because that's not my creation - it belongs to Sen045)

Fishing.umx is copyrighted to Sen045 (sen045@planetunreal.com)

Elements of peng2.utx are copyrighted to the estate of Maxfield Parrish(1870-1966)

suicidal.uax is royalty-free, courtesy of the CD-ROM '6000 Sound Effects' ( Last seen at: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B00001X5DG ) Pass it around to your hearts' content, so long as you don't sell it.

Incidentally, I can mail you a copy of the just the ship's exterior upon request, for those who want to work further on it w/o the interior. simply mail me at penguinisto@earthlink.net for further details.
