Author's notes :This is my first finished and fully playable map. It was finished in the fall of 2002 but for a number of reasons its premiere was delayed. Please do not ask why. The idea for it came from an old 2D game Blizzard's "Blackthorne", /1994 I think/ which is one of my favorite games ever. I tried to recreate in 3D the environment from the second part of the game the forests of Tuul. The skybox is almost exact copy of the background which I made by hand. I intended to make another three different sides of the skybox but I found it to be a time consuming job and abandoned that idea so now it is one and a same texture on each side. I couldn't find a good way to hide the corners of the skybox or at least not one that satisfied me.
I used lot of ambient sounds from the original contents and I think I pulled that off very well try to play it without music.
Most of the building process went on Celeron 400 MHz with 96 megabytes of RAM, then on Pentium II 400 MHz, and the final rebuild was on Pentium IV 1.8 GHz with 512 megabytes of RAM. It is playable even on the first configuration although with a stuttering frame rate on some locations.
Looking at this map from the distance of a whole year is kind of strange feel. I see how enthusiastic I was and how many compromises I've made in order to keep the atmosphere from "Blackthorne" but at the expense of the frame rate. I hope you will be generous enough and forgive my fondness for the original.

Known problems and bugs: None
